A small restaurant may be in the cards. How would you feel, if your place was a winner? A place that
you had dreams about saw it and tasted it and made into reality. Cooking at your restaurant is your ticket.
Depending on the home you live in, setting up business there may be easier than you think. The town I live in
has bistro type eating places sprinkled in among residential houses all over town. There are houses that have
been set up for dining. Normally it doesn't take much renovation to make a place ready for guests! Most of
these places have the living quarters upstairs and restaurant on the main level. Don't let things hold you
back from cooking at your restaurant if this is your dream.

With the small in home restaurant, you can decide whether to be open for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.
If you are a morning person, fresh made rolls and pastries with great coffee would have people lining up
before you open. A cozy spot to have an intimate dinner may be the way you would want to promote your spot if
your more of a night person. Having delicious meals easily prepared from trusted, tested recipes like the
ones in the Copycat Recipes Cookbook would
ease the recipe search. Do you have a house like this, or could you buy or rent a place to set up your own
restaurant?

During the nice days you can set up outside tables. Because these types of restaurants can only seat
a certain number of people inside, adding attractive outside dining would give you a way to serve more
guests. Morning with birds chirping, butterflies flying and squirrels scampering about, just adds an exciting
flair to eating outside. In the evening, soft winds and moonlight add to the ambiance. Beside the extra
serving space outdoor eating areas provide, many will come especially come for the ambiance.
There are some definite benefits to this business. Taxes are a big one. Because a part of the house is business, You can
deduct many expenses associated with running an in home business. If you make your house your business place,
your mortgage, utilities etc can be paid by the business. Please note: I am not a lawyer or accountant, so I
only give you ideas that I have seen or used. You must check taxes, deductions etc. with qualified people.
Some of the other benefits are no driving time to work. You are just a few steps away from your income!
Because this is your baby, cooking at your restaurant becomes a labor of love rather than a JOB which
translates to JUST OVER BROKE!
Your goal may be a 5 star restaurant, or anything in between. A five star restaurant may be
overwhelming as an undertaking, and a hot dog cart is not enough of a challenge. Pick from the many things in
between as your goal. The goal should stretch you but not break you. Be comfortable and love your decision and
make it happen!
